Limitation

Using the Merchant Admin section's View Order tool to update quantities or delete items from a customer's order does not update the product inventory.

Resolution

Now updating or deleting items using "View Order" tool will also update product inventory provided that the "Track Inventory?" option is selected. This option can be found in the "Inventory Settings" of the "Site Configuration" section.
